AV Election Result: Richmond Votes No

On Thursday 5th May voters in Richmond went to the polls to decide on whether to keep the current voting system elect their Members of Parliament or to change to the Alternative Vote. The decision across the country has been a decisive NO to AV.

In Richmond 60% of voters agreed with the Conservative argument to keep the simple and effective first past the post voting system and rejected the Liberal argument to change to the complex and costly AV system.
